For those of you who are fighting the end of winter blues (and yes, it will end), I offer this powerful reminder:
Happiness is not something you postpone for the future,
it is something you design for the present.
Jim Rohn
For those of you who do not recognize Mr. Rohn, he was an entrepreneur, author, and motivation speaker. A powerful voice in the world of inspiring leaders, we lost him in 2009, but his legacy lives on. According to his on-line biography, (www.jimrohn.com) he is known as a national treasure.
“A National Treasure”
“For more than 40 years, Jim Rohn honed his craft like a skilled artist—helping people the world over sculpt life strategies that expanded their imagination of what is possible. Those who had the privilege of hearing him speak can attest to the elegance and common sense of his material. It is no coincidence, then, that he is still widely regarded as one of the most influential thinkers of our time, and thought of by many as a national treasure. He authored countless books and audio and video programs, and helped motivate and shape an entire generation of personal-development trainers and hundreds of executives from America’s top corporations.”1

So many people postpone taking classes or working on art projects until someday. We hear it all the time. My message: Simply – don’t wait. Be the designer in your own life. Do something creative that makes you happy now! The positive energy you generate can radiate into other aspects of your life.

I am very familiar with Jim Rohn and his MANY words of wisdom for all! I have read his books and have heard him speak in person. Talk about a “motivating force!” Jim Rohn will get you going toward ANY goal you have. I highly recommend Jim to help anyone to “not postpone” doing what you want to do “till later.”
I have, unfortunately, been guilty of postponing one of may favorite things to do…stained glass!
I took stained glass classes 40 years ago, did a few projects, but then got busy with life and put stained glass “on hold.” I always said I wanted to get “back to it” when I had more time. Well, I recently re-discovered stained glass again with Miss Rose & Mr. Bill at Gallerys Choice, and I couldn’t be happier to be “back at it!” I finished one beautiful window already, and am working on two more simultaneously now. Miss Rose & Mr. Bill have allowed me to be a “refresher course” student at their studio, simultaneously re-teaching me, motivating me, and encouraging me every step of the way.
In the message of Jim Rohn, I highly recommend that if you are a “brand new” student to stained glass (or any other art form that Gallerys Choice provides), a “repeat-teach-me-again-student” (like me), or a “semi-professional” student, that you no longer “postpone for the future” the happiness your creativity will bring you by committing to “design your present!” Go For It!
Thanks Nancy, for those kind words! I think we all need motivation from time to time and I know a great source for me are our students! Fabulous work, by the way!
